Opal Obscura Returns & Exchanges Policy

At Opal Obscura, we want your order to arrive safely and as expected. If something isn’t right, please contact us so we can review the issue and help.

Returns & Exchanges

Fragrance is personal, and everyone experiences scent differently. We encourage you to explore our samples or discovery sets before purchasing a full-size bottle.

Except where required by law, all sales are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges for a change of mind, fragrance preference, or dissatisfaction with how a fragrance smells or performs on your skin. This applies to full-size bottles, samples, and discovery sets, whether opened or unopened.

This does not affect your rights if an item arrives damaged, leaking, faulty, or incorrect.

Damaged or Leaking Orders

Please inspect your order upon arrival. If an item arrives broken, leaking, or otherwise damaged, contact us as soon as reasonably possible with your order number and a brief description of the issue.

If it is safe to do so, please provide clear photos of:

• The affected bottle or product, showing the damage or leakage.
• The outer shipping box, including any visible damage.
• The shipping label, with the tracking number readable.
• The inner packaging and all contents, showing how the products were packed.

Please save the shipping box, all packaging, and all contents until we confirm they are no longer needed. These materials may be required for inspection or a shipping claim. Missing packaging or photos may make it more difficult to assess your claim.

Your safety comes first. Do not handle broken glass or put yourself at risk to take photos or retain damaged contents. Keep damaged items safely away from children, pets, heat, and flames. If something cannot safely be kept, please let us know.

Do not send broken or leaking perfume back to us. Contact us first for instructions.

Incorrect or Faulty Items

If you receive an incorrect item or discover a product fault, contact us with your order number, a description of the issue, and relevant photos where possible. Please contact us before returning anything.

Claim Review & Resolution

Each claim is reviewed individually. We may request additional photos, information, or an inspection to assess the issue and determine an appropriate resolution.

Submitting a claim does not automatically guarantee a refund or replacement. Where a claim is approved, we will confirm the resolution with you, which may include a replacement or refund, as appropriate and subject to applicable law.

Damage caused after delivery by accidental breakage, misuse, or improper storage is not covered by our transit-damage policy. This does not exclude damage caused by a product defect or otherwise limit your legal rights.

Authorized Returns & Refunds

Please contact us before sending any item back. If a return is needed, we will provide the appropriate instructions and confirm any applicable shipping arrangements. Do not arrange return shipping for perfume without our instructions.

Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method unless otherwise agreed or required by law. Once a refund has been processed, the time it takes to appear in your account will depend on your bank or payment provider.

What is in the Fall & Winter Fragrance Flight?

Five 2 mL extrait de parfum samples: Pastry Thief, Milk Drunk Rice, Sweet Driftwood, Spice Affair, and Golden Leaf. Two from Julia’s Opal perspective, two from Andrew’s Obscura perspective, and one meeting point.

How do the samples and discovery flight compare?

Individual 2 mL samples are $9 each. The complete Fall & Winter Fragrance Flight is $35 for all five, compared with $45 when sampled individually.

When will the collection be released?

Follow the countdown at the top of the site for the upcoming samples and discovery-pack launch. Join the launch list for updates and an email when orders open. Orders and preorders are not open yet.

Are Opal and Obscura for different genders?

No. They describe the tastes that guide our fragrances, not who should wear them. Explore either side—or both—and choose what you love.

What larger formats are coming?

All six fragrances will be offered as a 15 mL spray wand for $40 and a 50 mL bottle for $90. Individual 2 mL samples remain $9 and the five-scent discovery flight remains $35. Larger formats are coming soon; release dates will be shared when confirmed. Orders and preorders are not open.
